william saletan on what the democratic party should do. i agree with a lot of what he says. that message, of values and hard work, is basically why i supported edwards in the primaries (that and my firm belief that the next democratic president will be from the south or midwest). i don't know now that edwards is the best person to carry that message, but i don't see any other contenders. where is the next southern or midwestern governor who can talk convincingly about hard work, the american dream, and being a regular guy?
