the beam house.
this house is somewhat inspired by japanese houses and temples. the central
courtyard, with its surrounding deck/walkway echoes the porches and walkways
with overhanging roofs found in many japanese temples. the dark wood is
typical as well. the vertical wood beams used throughout are also suggestive
of traditional japanese architecture.
