Spicy shrimp and pasta
Ingredients
1/2 to 3/4 cup olive oil
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons turmeric
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper flakes (or more if you like it hot)
1 lb. fresh shrimp
4 cloves chopped garlic
1 chopped onion
1 lb fettucini
Directions
Chop the onion and the garlic. Set aside approximately 2 tablespoons of
olive oil, and then mix the cumin, turmeric and hot pepper flakes with
the remaining olive oil. Peel and clean (devane) the shrimp.
Place a the 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large saute pan, and add the
onion and garlic. Saute on medium heat until the onions appear translucent.
Add the remaining spice and oil mixture, mix thoroughly. Once the
mixture becomes hot again, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Once the shrimp is done, pour the entire contents of the saute pan
over the cooked pasta, mix thoroughly, and add salt and pepper to taste.
