[this is a great idea! following is a loose description of my all-time favorite, ever since i was a rugrat. no, i didn't grow up in a trailer park.] 1 lb ground beef 1 can cream o' mushroom soup 1/2 diced onion (walla walla sweets are the best) bag o' tater tots salt & pepper to taste ------------------ preheat the oven to 400 (i think, i'd have to actually get up and look at the cheatsheet if i were making it). cook hamburger thoroughly in frying pan & drain off excess grease. put the hamburger in a casserole dish, cover completely with soup and diced onion. top with tater tots (potato fiend's hint - add them vertically so you can really pack 'em in). cook uncovered until tater tots are brown and crispy, about 40 minutes. when it's done, let it cool a few minutes before dishing up so it gets nice and thick. skip salad and other crappy filler foods, and chase this delight w/ a cold beer for best results. NOTE: variations like cheddar cheese sprinkles or taco seasoning are nice, but completely unnecessary. From: sally | ||
